The Society of Luxembourg Students in Britain was founded in December 1992 by a few Luxembourgish students, who thought it was about time Luxembourg people were encouraged to consider university education in the United Kingdom and in Ireland. Today the club counts almost 300 students, former students and honorary members. The two main aims of the society are to provide information on British university courses and student life to prospective students and to represent our members and defend their interests with the Luxembourgish and British authorities.
As far as social get-togethers for members, we have been able to meet on numerous occasions in Luxembourg for activities like a barbecue party, dinners, cultural visits, etc. We also participate at the ‘Tournoi de Noël’ organised by the LASEL. During term time we have regular socials in the UK too. These have in the past included anything from simple get-togethers over
food and drink or theatre visits to an expedition to Ben Nevis, the highest ‚mountain’ in the UK.
